In this book, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Steve Wick explores that rich history. Written in 1996, the book includes first-hand accounts from descendants of the first English settlers who still farmed out there. These interviews, combined with Wick’s meticulous historical research, paint a robust picture of a centuries-old way of life and the challenges it faces in modern times.
